What do we value?

Radical Transparency

We believe the path to equity is one where knowledge and communication are not relegated to a select few. If knowledge is power, than an equitable communication strategy seeks to freely share that power. From how we engage with our clients, to how we share what we are learning along the way, to how we go about creating new knowledge, we seek to do so in a way that shares truth frankly - the good, the bad, and the complicated.

Compassionate Accountability

It’s a lot easier to talk about wanting equity and structural change than it is to go through the difficult work of changing status quo, redistributing discomfort, and changing how we engage with power as individuals, collaborators, organizations, and society. None of us get it right all the time, so holding ourselves and one another to the standards of equity we’re striving toward is part of what keeps us moving forward. That doesn’t mean we’re looking for the next gotcha moment for one another but rather that we do for each other what we hope others will do for us - help us live into our ideals at each opportunity. It is in the spirit of collaboration and mutual growth that we hold space for one another to make mistakes in the process of learning, unpack complex feelings around the kind of transformational change we seek to co-create, and see the humanity in each other given that none of us have arrived at the equity finish line just yet but most of us are desperately trying to get closer every day.

Authenticity

We are people, just like you. There is no one right way to be in the world, no singular path toward equity, no part of ourselves that deserves more or less love than the other. Showing up as our full selves gives us the best chance of maximizing our strengths in service of our clients, partners, and communities. Honoring one another’s ways of showing up in the world is how we seek to model the inclusion we seek to help others create.
